Monday Inspiration ~ Spring Renewal ~ Chic Home
Spring is a time for renewal ... Faith, Family, Home and Business are all areas in our lives that can benefit from renewed energy and focus. Spring is when I focus much more on my own surroundings, after spending the winter months decorating for the holidays, and pouring over magazines, books and even getting ideas from movies while I was snuggling up during the bad weather, I feel the urge to renew and redo.
White is my passion but I am also drawn to dark modern pieces, so I am trying to find the right blend for my own home. Gemini, go figure. The rooms I pick out to share with you may have one element that inspires me or it may be the entire room.... here are a few more that I hope inspire you too.
I love this kitchen ...
I adore the simplicity of this space... I don't care much for wood chairs so I would probably add parson chairs with white velvet or chenille slipcovers for texture and comfort and I think that would give me the modern feeling I look for...
Chairs should make you want to linger at the table for chit chat with friends and family before and after a meal...
I am outfitting every window in my home with gauze this year ...
I would change the canopy to a sheer white gauze
but need I say more about this bedroom ....
another great fireplace mantle...
and a little touch of Spring for you.

That kitchen is great....I want to re-do my kitchen this year....paint the cabinets and get a new counter top....I am leaning toward distressed black with a very light marble top....putting some glass in the doors......and maybe bead board half way up the wall.....I am collection pictures at the moment....going to be a lot of work but in the end it is always worth it.....I also love the idea of the gauze window treatment....very clean and fresh....great tip......
What inspiration does Spring bring for you?..you ask....I guess that would be some changes....and lots and lots of fresh flowers in the garden....that is another thing I love to do is work in the garden.....

To me, Spring brings to mind: white, open, airiness, light, touches of green, life, clean, uncluttered, rebirth and renewal.
That being said, I adore the fireplace mantle! It is exquisite - so refined!

Love your question! Spring means absolute "Bliss" to me. It means playing in my flower gardens,listening to the spring birds serenading me, eating meals alfresco with family and friends and hitting all the outdoor antique shows and flea markets.
